Five Steps to Start the Semester Sustainably

Here are five simple steps students can take to start the semester sustainably while living on Grounds!

  1. CHOOSE TO REUSE

  2. Participate in the reusable-to-go program! Redeem your box using the bonus swipe on your meal plan and use it to take food to go from the dining halls. Watch this video or click this link to learn more!

  3. Invest in a reusable water bottle! Stay hydrated and reduce waste by carrying your own water bottle around Grounds.

  4. Bonus: Read our previous blog post on Executive Order 77 and UVA's plan to cease buying, selling, and distributing single-use plastic water bottles

  5. RECYCLE AND COMPOST

  6. Recycle and compost your waste! UVA makes it easy to take care of your trash properly by providing easy access to places where you can recycle and compost.
