Fill it Forward
The Fill it Forward Program is currently suspended due to COVID-19 safety measures. The program will resume as soon as it is safe to do so.
How to Use Fill it Forward
1. Pick up a Fill it Forward Sticker from one of the Cupanion signs located around grounds.
2. Download the Fill it Forward App
3. Using the app, scan the sticker each time you refill to earn points, give clean water, and track your footprint.
4. The barcodes at cash registers will give you more points. Bring a reusable for your coffee and soda to earn extra points!
What is Fill it Forward?
In 2015, UVA Dining partnered with the Office for Sustainability to launch Cupanion. Cupanion is a program that rewards students for choosing reusable cups instead of single-use plastic cups at dining locations. Recently, Cupanion became Fill it Forward.
Fill it Forward creates reusable products and interactive technologies that encourage the world to reuse and reduce single-use waste. Cupanion is now Fill it Forward's line of travel drinkware.
Take part in Fill it Forward's mission by downloading the Fill it Forward app and using your reusable cup or mug when you purchase drinks. The app allows you to track your impact and contribute to charity projects each time you reuse.
The app also lets you win prizes through UVA Dining. Scan the Fill it Forward barcodes at Dining Locations when you use your reusable cup, and watch your rewards add up. Rewards can be exchanged for prizes such as reusable steel straws or plastic sporks.
